New Patients

We would love to have you and your pet join the B’ahava Veterinary Health & Wellbeing Family. We are currently welcoming new patients at our Wellness Center in Roanoke, TX. We are honored to offer holistic, integrative, and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine services to the local community.

Please keep in mind that while no referral is required, we strongly encourage you to maintain a relationship with your primary veterinarian for routine wellness, diagnostics, and procedures. We will partner with them to ensure the whole health of your pet is appropriately monitored and sustained. In accordance with Texas Administrative Code, our only requirement is that all patients must be up to date on their rabies vaccination. Please note that Texas does not recognize titer tests as proof of vaccination.

The following is an outline of what to expect as a new patient. If you have any questions or are ready to get scheduled, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

What to Expect

Step 1 - Decisions

Choosing an Appointment Type

In addition to learning more about your pet and your goals for their care, we’ll have a few questions to make sure we align you with the right appointment type for your goals.

Do you want to pursue Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) at the first appointment?
TCVM (including Acupuncture, Herbal Therapy, TCVM Food Therapy, and Tui-na) requires a more comprehensive intake and exam process to establish a TCVM Pattern Diagnosis. For TCVM appointments, we have limited availability to also provide housecalls within the DFW area. A doctor travel fee would apply based on the location.

Do you prefer an alternative approach without TCVM?
If you’re not interested in TCVM, we still have plenty of other options in our toolbox! We have an integrative appointment where we can work together to address any medical concerns. Additionally, we offer a holistic appointment to discuss preventative measures for patients with no known medical conditions.

Our team is happy to help guide you through these options if you have questions.

Step 1 - Decisions

Step 2 - Interest Form

New Patient Interest Form

To help us understand more about your needs and address any questions you may have, we ask that you complete our short New Patient Interest Form.

Our team will get back to you as quickly as possible and will include a detailed estimate based upon the information you provide.

Step 2 - Interest Form

Step 3 - Schedule

Schedule Appointment

We use the information submitted in the New Patient Interest Form to help us learn a little more about your goals for your pet and provide an estimate prior to scheduling an appointment.

Upon scheduling, we will collect a booking fee that holds your appointment time and is fully refundable up to 3 business days prior to the appointment. The fee is applied to the cost of the first appointment.

Step 3 - Schedule

Step 4 - Pre-Appointment Prep

Medical Records and Paperwork

A confirmation email will walk you through the information we need before the appointment.  We will be asking for the following three items:

Medical Records
Please request records from your primary veterinarian and any specialists so we can have a complete medical history to review. This includes proof of a current rabies vaccine. We are happy to help you request records if you’d like.

Consent Forms and Policies
There are a number of important documents for you to review prior to our first appointment. You will receive a link to review these online.

Intake Form
We will ask you to complete an extensive intake form that goes over your goals as well as observations of your pet’s behaviors, activities, and interests. This form is more elaborate than what you would find through a conventional veterinary office, and may require additional time to complete it. This is a very important part of the process as it gives our team insight into your pet’s health and wellbeing outside of what can be observed during the appointment.

Step 4 - Pre-Appointment Prep

Step 5 - Appointment Day

Day of Appointment

The big day is here – it’s time for our first appointment! With the paperwork done in advance, all you have to do is show up with your pet and we’ll guide you through the rest. Please plan to set aside enough time to be fully present and engaged for the appointment. The welcome email you receive in advance of your appointment will walk you through what to expect during our time together.

We ask that you or a designated guardian (18 years of age or older) be available to participate for the entire duration of the appointment.
