About Us!

Founded in June 2020, B’ahava Veterinary Health & Wellbeing practices Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) which includes Acupuncture, Herbal Therapy, Food Therapy, and Tui-na (medical massage). Our services compliment and supplement the care other veterinary health professionals provide for your pet. We offer services by appointment only either at our wellness center in Roanoke, Texas or in your home within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

B’ahava (“with love” in Hebrew) serves as the foundation of how we practice and support the overall wellbeing of your pet. Our founder, Dr. Levin-Russo, selected this name for two predominant reasons:

  • In her cards and letters to her family and friends, she would always close her messages using “B’ahava”, indicative of the love and affection that she felt for the person(s) receiving the note. In turn, this is the same love and affection she feels for each and every one of her patients and their pet parent(s).
  • Although practicing any form of veterinary medicine is both an art and science, there is another important component in practices that often gets “lost in the mix”: compassion. Dr. Levin-Russo is a champion of constantly integrating this key ingredient when working with patients and their pet parents. When practicing TCVM, we do so “with love” and compassion… it is in everything we do. ❤️

Meet Dr. Levin-Russo

(Earth/Metal Constitution)

Dr. Amanda Levin-Russo found her calling for Veterinary Medicine at a young age when she lost her first dog to osteosarcoma (bone cancer). From that point forward, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and has dedicated her life to helping animals live their very best lives.

Dr. Levin-Russo is a proud graduate of both Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!). After a number of years working in both conventional and integrative practices across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, she founded B’ahava Veterinary Health & Wellbeing to provide exceptional quality integrative veterinary care to the greater DFW region.

Dr. Levin-Russo has always been a proponent of the power of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) to support her patients. Soon after graduating from veterinary school, she began undergoing additional training on TCVM through Chi University (formerly Chi Institute) in Reddick, Florida. In addition to being a licensed Veterinarian in the State of Texas, she is also a Certified Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medical Practitioner. This means she has received certifications in all four pillars of TCVM (Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, Food Therapist, Chinese Herbalist, and Tui-na Practitioner).

Dr. Levin-Russo is a devoted lifelong learner and is currently furthering her education with a Master of Science in TCVM through Chi University.

Outside of her veterinary work, Dr. Levin-Russo and her husband Evan enjoy spending time traveling, visiting with family and friends all over the United States, and exploring new restaurants across the Metroplex.

Our Supporting Team

Evan Russo

Evan Russo, MBA

Practice Manager & Behind the Scenes Support (Earth Constitution)
Dr. Levin-Russo's husband Evan provides most of the behind the scenes technical and business support for the practice. In his childhood, Evan was always "starting businesses" with a friend and enjoyed the inner workings of the business world. With that passion in mind, he pursued both an undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and an MBA from Winthrop University. While his "day job" is with a Fortune 500 company, he brings a different perspective to the world of veterinary medicine. Outside of the business world, his passion includes emergency management and he actively volunteers within Denton County.

Mischa

Feline Ambassador (Fire/Metal Constitution)
Despite her aloof nature with an occasional “spicy” attitude, Mischa is tolerant of her Tui-na sessions and very much a fan of Food Therapy (especially if there is a chicken involved)! Being the diva that she is, she loves having her picture taken and is the star of our many of our Instagram posts… no filter needed.
